Much better than lower cost rivals Once you've gotten used to an electric toothbrush there's no going back. No matter how much elbow grease you apply when using an old fashioned manual brush, your teeth never seem to feel as clean and polished.
I've been using a Braun Oral-B Professional 7000 for sometime, but that costs only a third as mush as this Sonicare. You soon realise you're using a high end product.
The first thing you notice is that the brush heads are of a far simpler design than the Braun Oral-B which seem to have become ever more elaborate over time. The next thing is just how much the Sonicare tickles, but that sensation soon passes with regular use. The third thing was just how much cleaner - and I go as far as to say dentist polished - your teeth feel.
I'd say this is much better than its lower cost rivals and well worth the additional investment.
Pearly Whites! My lovely new brush arrived last week, and I have been buzzing with mouth related joy ever since! The initial zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz of the thing is starting to wear off, but when you first use it it feels like there are a dozen bees brushing your teeth for you (with out the stinging, of course....). My teeth felt clean and fresh, and even after several hours they didn't develop that fuzziness that they can sometimes get around the molars. I'm a smoker, and I like my coffee and red wine, so my teeth are little stained and yellow I guess, but this toothbrush has already started to make a difference to that, with a definite improvement in whiteness. The UV sanitizer and chargeing dock are big bits of kit which are a bit intrusive and take up a lot of space, so are not recommended if you are struggling for space in your family bathroom. I don't actually have a plug in my bathroom so this sits outside in the kitchen alongside my electric razor! Its pretty functional looking and is not particularly nice to have on display, but what toothbrush is?? It will be nice when designers of these soprts of things start to realise that people like nice looking gadgets, even if they do the most mundane of jobs!
