Great design, easy to use and professional toothbrush Having tried various electric toothbrushes in the past, I have always preferred my Oral-B one due to its ease of use, reliability and how effective it is at cleaning my teeth and removing plaque (in comparison to a normal toothbrush).
Compared to my earlier model, the improvements here are a light which indicates when the brush is fully charged and the timer which sounds at 30-second intervals (to remind you to brush the four quadrants of your mouth). There is also a red indicator which starts blinking when the battery is low.
A powerful, efficient piece of kit Once you get beyond the tough plastic shell that Braun seem to weld to their toothbrushes when packing them, you can enjoy this Oral Care 500 for what it is - a superior electric toothbrush. When charged, the motor does pack a substantially bigger punch than other models in the range, and fitted with one of the supplied cleaning heads I could instantly feel the difference on my teeth once they'd been cleaned.
Braun seem to produce a dizzy array of choice when it comes to toothbrushes, so it is hard to differentiate this one on other grounds other than the more powerful cleaning finish I've mentioned. The 500 ships with charger unit and two standard heads, but for some of the other benefits being promoted, such as teeth whitening, you'll need to shell out for more attachments that aren't supplied.
Nevertheless, as you'd expect from Braun - this is well-made and does the job more than efficiently.
